This very fine vehicle was built by Barry Wheelwright with the smaller pony in mind is very well proportioned and balanced. The vehicle is in excellent condition having been professionally restored when the Shetland pony to which it was put was retired in 2013 and has been barn stored since. It is only for sale as too small for current pony, very reluctant sale hence the delay in offering it for sale.
This gig is black with gold coachlines, patent leather dash, fenders and shaft protectors, brass fittings and cream upholstery. The wheels have 12 spokes and are 37.5 inches in diameter, the axle is believed to be from an original vehicle. The shafts are 57” long with the tug stops and dees at 44” and 32.5” from the swingle tree respectively. The distance between the shafts is 20”, 19”, 21” and 28.5” at the tip, tugs, dees and swingle tree respectively.
The chestnut pony shown in the pictures is 42” in height, the black pony shown is 38” and the whip is 5’ 9” tall.
