Charly,15.2hh Riding Gelding
I have for sale my 15.2hh Irish piebald gelding who is 8 years old. Charly has a large amount of bone and is a weight carrier. Charly is good to catch and groom and is never bargy. He can be turned out with mares and geldings and is not spiteful. He is happy to live in or out and is good doer. Charly has no allergies or ailments and has never been lame.
As regards his ridden career, Charly has hunted extensively both in Ireland and Warwickshire. I have only ever hacked Charly and have ridden him out in large groups across main roads, over level crossings, open fields and bridleways and always in a snaffle. He is great in traffic including tractors, lorries and motorbikes and he is used to walkers, runners, cyclists and barking dogs. Charly is good to shoe and even lifts his legs for the farrier.
Charly does pull faces in the stable but has never gone to bite anyone. He needs an experienced home as I feel he would intimidate a novice rider or handler. Charly needs a job and would be best suited to a hunting home as I feel this is where his talent lies. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me between 5.30 and 10pm. He was bred, born and trained in County Cork in Ireland and was at a riding school in Sunderland when I bought him. He has no vices and is excellent to box, shoe and clip. This is a fast pony when in harness and was clocked at 28 miles on his first outing when I bought him and has a fantastic mouth and can be ridden and driven on a piece of string.
