Somerset Wagon by Cummins

Somerset wagon by Cummins. Here's a splendid Somerset sheer rave wagon built in 1931 by Cummins and Son of Bridgewater for HW Biddlecombe of Hartpury, Gloucester. One of the very last examples of a craftsman built, traditional English farm wagon by, probably, the best wagon builder in the country.

Some restoration has obviously been done some years ago, the wheels, 48" and 36", are in excellent order with no play. The shafts have been replaced and at 7ft 3" x 26" will take a modern heavy horse. The forecarriage including the hounds, the connecting pole, axles and main frame are all in very good, solid condition. It will probably need some work on the top raves, the tops of the headboard and tailboard but they are still quite sound and look pretty good.

Very compact and light it is easily manoeuvred. Although quarter locking, the small front wheels and width of the body still give it a good lock. Message me for more information or more photos. Delivery can be arranged at extra cost.
