Wanted: Riding Pony

Looking for a Lottie-a-like. Lottie is a smidge under 14.1hh and almost as wide. She takes no notice of tractors, motor bikes, lorries, cars, bicycles, dogs or cows. Lottie likes to go out on her own, or with others. She loves the country lanes and open fields, but sees no need to rush.

Lottie is good to trim (currently barefoot), but would be fine with shoes. She has no vices and is fit and sound but not in her first rush of youth. Lottie likes to come in for food and go out again with her friends in the field, but is also happy being in at night during the bad weather. Most of all, Lottie loves taking care of her slightly nervous rider and is often described as ‘a saint'. She would like someone just like her to join us so she doesn't have to so all the work!

Abergavenny Gee Whiz, 14.1hh Welsh Section D Stallion

Abergavenny Gee Whiz, fully licenced six year old Welsh section D stallion. Full pedigree can be seen on all breed pedigree. He is a bay with four even white socks and a blaze standing at approximately 14.1hh. Has been shown with great success as a youngster. He won a WPCS bronze medal at the Midland Association show as a two year old, as a three year old he was Supreme Champion at the NPS area 28 spring show winning an NPS silver medal rosette in the process, he was second at Lampeter Stallion Show, first at Barley Saturday, and 6th at the royal Welsh among other success.

He moves for fun and is good to load and with the farrier and is easy to handle in the stable and leads well. He was broken to ride in the Autumn 2021 by Annah Chester but since then has done nothing.

We can provide a video of him under saddle. He does suffer from slight sweet itch when the midges are bad in the summer but this is easily controlled with a fly rug and he has never lost his mane or tail.

16/16.1hh 11 year mare, reg Belgium, hacks alone with a strong rider as will plant so needs a smacked bum and a growl and she will go, will happily hack in company, she will happily go around the school but isn't well schooled in an outline but wiling, canters fine out in the open. There's literally not a nasty bone in her.

Here's the nitty gritty, hacking alone Noreen will look at stuff, she needs pushing on if she passes a horse eating wheelie bin! Or silly stuff like gateways! Having said this she's no killer and is ridden by teenagers here, and fine in company. She is a very big horse so not for someone that's only ever owned a pony as she does know her size but is a sweetheart and wouldn't hurt you.

Old scarring on back legs that you can't see but can feel from feather mites but she has been successfully treated by my vet. Barefoot good for farrier, not a novice ride, hacking alone although I think anyone could ride her in the school or if hacking through woodlands.

Bonnie, Connemara 15.1hh Mare

Bonnie Connemara 15.1, 9 years old bay mare. For sale as project, this advert is as honest as I can be so as not to be sold on as a child's pony. She needs a small capable adult to have time patience with her. Bonnie was sold to a friend of mine as a well schooled, straight forward teenagers horse, previously ridden by a fourteen year old, well mannered, no issues etc...

On the ground she is just that, trying to ride her she is hit and miss as to whether she will be fine or turn in to a bucking bronco! Obviously this is a problem, all the usual have been checked.

My friend payed £2,500 for her, she was sent to a livery yard to be assessed after the first incident and after a month, the owner decided he didn't want to spend anymore money on her. All that said in my opinion she would make a lovely project broodmare or companion (Bonnie has had foal previously).

Extremely quiet safe steady ride, ideal mother daughter share or for someone wanting to get back in to the saddle. Would also make a great driver as has lovely step.

Bombproof on the road, stabled in the countryside and regularly passes lorries, tractors, and trailers and the odd speedy driver down narrow roads! Charley has 3 great paces, lightly schooled over a few small poles and is showing great potential to be a lovely ridden cob. Can be ridden straight out of the field.

Flicka, 16hh Mare

Flicka is an 18 year old 16hh mare who came to me recently as a confidence giver. She has not settled on our very busy yard with me, I think mainly due to my inexperience with larger horses. I had not ridden since being a teenager and am very nervous, which is transferring to her and then I'm losing any confidence I had.

She was sold to me as a ridden horse however she has been intermittently unsound since I had her shod, my farrier shod her differently to support her heels so this may have affected her so I am therefore selling her as a companion. However until this week she has been being ridden almost daily in walk and this has not proved a problem to her either in the school or hacking. I am hopeful that she could possibly be able to do light ridden work again in the future.

Unfortunately I don't have the time or confidence to continue with her so have decided it's best for her to find a new home.

15.2hh TB Riding Mare

I have a 15.2hh TB mare for sale, ROR eligible. No time wasters please. Bought in Jan for my daughter but they haven't clicked hence sale. Out of regular work for the last 8-9 weeks, won't take much to bring her back. She is being lunged 3x a week and ridden once.

This mare needs a job, she's a very clever lady who thrives on challenge. Would make an ideal competition horse once back in work. Jumps like a stag, was hacking alone and in company. Stables or lives out. Nothing fazes her and loves a cuddle.

Jj, 14hh Riding Gelding

Jj (John Joseph), 14hh heavy weight cob. A true general purpose pony. Been there done it type, from hunting, moor rides, dressage, xc, fun rides, jumping, hacking in company and on his own. A gelding that is forward going but never silly.

Jj was brought for my mother in law to just plod around the lanes, we feel that Jj can do so much more than hacking and needs a job out having fun. He is wasted with us. He is 11 years old, bare foot and up to date with his teeth, back and worming treatments. He is the first to greet you and never an issue to catch, he will load and travel like a dream.

He can be stabled as long as he has company but has lived out with us 24/7. He lives in a mixed herd. He came over from Ireland and we aren't sure if he has ever driven but we feel this is something he would be great at. For any more enquires please contact.
