Del, 12.2hh ride and drive 6 year old blue blagdon gelding with 4 whites. Passported, chipped, vaccinated. Utterly bombproof, done a scrap round so drive artics a foot from his bum and he won't even look, goes 2 or 4 wheel. Had high speed trains go past ten foot away with child on bareback and all good. Seen farm/plant machinery and livestock.
Goes on a tether, lives in or out, loads like a champ, great for farrier, easy to catch, lives with anything, doesn't mind needles/worming, good to bath. Can clip his mane, just a bit sensitive in feather area due to past feather mite issues we think. No mallenders/sallenders. Has sweet itch but easily controlled and comes with full brand new bug rug if desired.
Lazy in school but will stride out on a hack, ideal happy hack for children, great brakes and snaffle mouth. Currently unshod and in occasional light work, just a happy hack for my daughter but sadly outgrown. Polly, 12.1hh Riding Mare
Polly 10 year old 12.1hh cob. We have owned Polly for the last two years, my 9 year old's learnt a lot with her on the ground and riding, we have taken her to local shows and pony club. Polly hacks in company or on own, will often lead the ponies that nap.
She is brilliant in traffic, with tractors, bikes, large vehicles. Never bolted, not spooky, looked after my daughter and my 5 year old son who also rides her. My daughter likes to school and jump, although Polly has done a lot of this and will pop a jump, it is not what she likes and with a more experienced child who wants to work she will show attitude and protest. With my younger son she will follow me round the school and will happily plod about. She loves to be pampered, will stand for hours, fine with clippers but need to be sensitive and good to load on trailer.
