He is a standardbred that has raced in a trap, which he did very well. Since owning Louis we have done unaffiliated showjumping where he's proved himself to be amazingly consistent, although still green. He's extremely willing with a trainable attitude. Professor is a handsome 16hh, 10-year-old registered Standardbred who has recently retired from a successful harness racing career with us after many enjoyable years on the track. We are now looking for his forever ridden home. I personally broke him to ride, and he has been an absolute pleasure from day one. He is a true gentleman with a fantastic temperament, eager to please and genuinely enjoys his work.
Professor is just as sensible and well-mannered in company as he is on his own. He is forward yet reliable, and about as close to bombproof as a horse can be. Under saddle, he has never paced for me, and when racing he only paced when hobbled, making him a straightforward and enjoyable ride.
This is an incredibly sad sale, but with other young horses coming into racing, I simply cannot give him the time and attention he deserves to carry on his ridden career. A genuine 5* home is essential for this very special boy. Inc a saddle company saddle I've just had fitted to him.
